“Trash Talk“ – How does today’s trash effect tomorrow’s environment?
How does our trash effect the environment? The students of Year Nine’s E-courses and of Year Ten found out more about the consequences of our trash in a play that was brought to the Schule am Burgfeld by Theatre@School. To be more precise that meant that two students – that were actually two charming British actors – travelled through the time with us – right into the future which looked rather dark than bright. The play depicted the longterm consequences of climate change if humans wouldn‘t change their behaviour. Together we have learnt that big creatures like elephants and tigers will become extinct, the earth will become burning hot and snow will be a memory of the past. To sum it up, this future did not seem inviting at all – and we better change our behaviour sooner than later.
Students and teachers were amazed by the great performance that included funny jokes, music and good dance moves, but also by the very important message of the play. As we have learned, it can be so easy and everyone is able to do something against climate change. What is definitely going to stay with us is the catchy song and message of the play: “reduce – reuse – recycle“.
